It is short, the Partschinser Waalweg, and therefore relatively quickly walked. Too bad actually, because this Waal path leads through a very interesting scenic mix of mixed forest and chestnut forests, but also stone cirques.
But you still have enough time to visit South Tyrol's highest waterfall, which thunders down to the valley just above the beginning of the Waalweg and can be reached from there in about 15 minutes on foot! With a drop of over a hundred meters, the Parcines waterfall is the highest of its kind in South Tyrol.
The best way to get there is from Parcines (parking in the village) and take the steep asphalt road in the direction of Oberdorf/Zieltal. At the entrance to the Zieltal valley you can change to the Sagenweg trail, which leads to the Birkenwald inn. From there a hiking trail leads to directly below the Partschinser waterfall. If you continue walking for 10 minutes, you will reach the Waterfall Inn, from where a path leads directly to the waterfall, to its half height. On the way back, it is recommended to make a detour on the Parcines Waal path, which leads in the direction of Meran and after about 2 km east of Parcines offers the possibility to return to the village.
